Adhesives and Sealants
Adhesive applications include acrylics, epoxies, and polyurethanes. Sealants applications include silicone, polyurethane, plastisol, emulsion (acrylic), polysulfide, and butyl rubber. Origin PTA offers a drop-in replacement for fossil PTA normally used to make polyester polyols. Origin CMF can be converted to amine, alcohol, and epoxy variants, including diamine, diol, and diglycidyl furans.
Asphalt consists of bitumen, aggregate, and other performance additives. Origin HTC, used as a sustainable extender for bitumen, can replace a major fossil-based component of asphalt.
Composites combine thermoset or thermoplastic resin with functional fillers (like glass fiber and carbon fiber) that can be pre-manufactured, molded, or prepared and applied in-situ. Origin PTA can be used as a key diacid component in the manufacture of UPR (unsaturated polyester resin). Origin CMF can be converted to amine, alcohol, and epoxy variants, including diamine, diol and diglycidyl furans, which can be blended to make resins for various composites.
Insulation is either premanufactured (PIR rigid foam, polyester fiber, PET foam) or applied on location (polyurethane foam). Origin PET can be used in polyester fiber or PET foam to manufacture bio-based insulation. Origin PTA offers a drop-in replacement for fossil PTA, the material normally used to make polyester polyols, key components of PIR and polyurethane foams.
Interior Applications and More
Flooring and carpet are important functionally and aesthetically. Nonwoven textiles are used widely in pre-fabricated component manufacturing, geotextile ground preparation, and external building wrapping. Origin PET can be used to manufacture polyester fibers for carpet, flooring, and nonwoven fabrics.
Paints and Coatings
