Origin started with an idea: What if we looked for potential where others had given up trying — and changed the world? In 2008, students from the University of California, Davis founded a brand-new material technology company. Ever since, Origin has applied first-principles thinking to challenging, rewarding problems in materials and sustainability.

Origin became a publicly traded company in 2021. Along our journey, we have partnered with some of the world’s great companies, including leaders in consumer-packaged goods, manufacturing, and top brands. Innovation is our North Star.

Now, we are commercializing a breakthrough in recycling circularity and product performance, with the world’s first PET caps and closures. At Origin, we exist to enable the global transition to sustainable materials.
